Dear Potential New Member,

Hey everyone! I am so excited that you have made the bold decision to go through the Panhellenic recruitment process this year at LSU! There are so many ways of getting involved here at LSU, but becoming a part of the LSU Greek Life community is one like no other. This can be such a fulfilling time in your life as it will open doors to new opportunities, you will meet new friends, and you will have the experience of a lifetime. Delta Gamma has opened me up to numerous opportunities, pushing me to be the best version of myself, and has also helped me accomplish the many goals I had for myself going through these four years of college. I know deep in my heart that all of this could be the same and more for you! To help you best prepare for an unforgettable recruitment experience, I want to share some big sister tips and advice. 

First, I know it can be over said, but truly go into this process with and open mind and throw out any predetermined ideas you may have about any sorority at LSU or sorority life in general. It’s true what they say, and you really do get out what you put into this process. You might even surprise yourself a little! Second, I also know all of this can be incredibly nerve wracking. I was in your shoes once, but trust me, do not let the nerves get the best of you. This process is all about you! This is the first step into a chapter of your life that is going to introduce some the most amazing people you’ve ever met, and you deserve to enjoy it all. This process is not just about finding the people that will make your Bid Day or freshman year memorable, but it’s about finding the people that will be standing by your side as you say goodbye in four years as a senior. No matter if you drove 5 minutes down the road or have come from over 2000 miles away, fully dive into this process like no other. I promise that when you do so, you’ll find that the little stressors of recruitment—such as whether to not your outfit is perfect or if your hair is curled just how you like it— will simply fade away. At the end of the day, just as you are nervous about wanting to find a group of girls who make you feel seen and supported, we are just as nervous! We want to give you all the best experience we possibly can. So lastly, my biggest piece of advice is so simply take it all in and enjoy your time at every house, talk to the girls around you, make memories, and have so much fun. You only get this experience once, so make it the best you can! You are all so lucky and blessed to be where you are, and I wish you the absolute best of luck! See you in August!!
