Dear Potential New Member,

Hi everyone! My Delta Gamma sisters and I are so excited that you have decided to go through the Panellenic recruitment process this year at LSU! Being a member of LSU Greek Life is one of the many amazing ways to get involved on LSU’s campus. This can be such a fulfilling time in your life; one where you will meet new friends, explore new opportunities, and grow as an individual. DG has opened my eyes to so many new opportunities. It has pushed me to be the best version of myself, and has helped me accomplish the many goals I set for myself when entering college, and I know it could be the same for you! I hope you have an amazing recruitment and sorority experience, and to help you best prepare, I have some tips and advice for you.

First, make the most out of your time at each house. A common theme in both recruitment and the college experience is knowing that you get out what you put into this process! Go into this experience with an open mind and forget any predetermined conceptions you may have of sorority life or any of the sororities at LSU. Remember how important it is to be open and ready to learn about all of the amazing aspects of each house! It is totally normal to be nervous, but do not let your nerves get the best of you. Take a breath, and remember that this experience is all about you! Recruitment is about helping you find the house that fits you best not just on bid day, not just as a freshman, but when you're a senior saying goodbye to your best friends. It can be a stressful time, but I encourage you to embrace the new beginnings. No matter if you are from Baton Rouge or drove 1500 miles to get to Baton Rouge, fully commit yourself to this process. When you do so, make sure to look past the glam of recruitment. Don’t worry about your outfits or the small things that will cause you stress, and understand that we want to get to know you! Just as much as you want to find a group of girls who make you feel comfortable and supported, we feel the same way! It is important for you to really recognize the girls who make you laugh uncontrollably and feel as if you can go to the house, never feel judged, and just be yourself. Lastly, I advise you to enjoy your time at the houses, make memories, and just have fun! I wish you the absolute best on your recruitment journey. See you in August!
